New Works, Upcoming Show
I’m super-razzle-dazzle-duper excited about the new work I’ve been doing. Started playing in plaster and beeswax this summer after a hiatus of waaaay too long. Here’s a quick look at the general direction I’m heading in. Not a fancy shot, just works in progress hanging out on the studio wall. It’s all about texture, color and juicy, oh so juicy, wax.
To see more of what I’m doing right now, click on the “Latest Work” tab up above. Or click here, it’ll take you to the same place. I just love makin’ those links, y’know.
Maybe this will whet your appetite. A little up close and personal from my “Life is a Game” series. Haven’t added any wax to this one yet. Maybe I will. Maybe I won’t.
These pieces and more will all be on exhibit in It’s All Relative, a show featuring the works of moi and sister Marjorie Ellen. You can check her work out here and here. Show runs November 15 through December 10 (think Christmas shopping! Christmas shopping!) at The Center for the Arts, Grass Valley CA. Opening reception Saturday, November 19 from 1-4PM.
Margie is the middle one. The blonde with the killer felt skirt. Imagine that, she’s all grown up (still older than me) and living in Norway where she goes by her middle name, Ellen. Been there for years with Viking Spouse and Viking Spawn.
Seriously, you won’t want to miss this show. Margie just called me up and told me not to use the publicity photo she gave me because she already sold the piece. Really, just like that. And two people wanted it.
A portion of the proceeds from this show will go to Hospice of the Foothills.
